Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index rises 1.29%

Nifty FMCG index closed up 1.29% at 31426.25 today. The index is up 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, United Spirits Ltd slipped 3.22%, Nestle India Ltd jumped 2.92% and Marico Ltd gained 2.88%. The Nifty FMCG index is up 6.00% over last one year compared to the 13.87% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 0.89% and Nifty Auto index increased 0.79% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.61% to close at 12129.5 while the SENSEX added 0.57% to close at 41198.66 today.
