Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 1.39%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 1.39% at 1891.9 today. The index has lost 16.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India jumped 8.52%, Central Bank of India gained 4.00% and Indian Overseas Bank rose 3.51%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 35.00% over last one year compared to the 1.95% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 1.14% and Nifty FMCG index added 1.05% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.16% to close at 11269 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.16% to close at 38470.61 today.
