Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 1.89,NIFTY climbs 1.03%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 1.89% at 3239 today. The index has added 17.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Canara Bank jumped 3.79%, Punjab National Bank added 3.52% and Indian Bank gained 2.47%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 9.00% over last one year compared to the 13.45% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index increased 1.60% and Nifty Financial Services index added 1.54% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 1.03% to close at 11360.8 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.05% to close at 37556.16 today.
