Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 2.98%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 2.98% at 3379.2 today. The index has added 19.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Union Bank of India rose 4.82%, Bank of India gained 4.26% and Bank of Baroda jumped 4.14%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 5.00% over last one year compared to the 15.77% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index increased 2.08% and Nifty Metal index added 1.39% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.18% to close at 11470.7 while the SENSEX increased 0.36% to close at 38024.37 today.
