Rupee hit worsely

At 58.71/72 per dollar

Rupee saw its worse fall in a month and closed at 58.71/72 per dollar on Monday (26 May 2014), versus its previous close of 58.52/53 per dollar on Friday.

The drop is due to investors covered short dollar positions ahead of the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi, with all eyes set on the allocation of key portfolios.
