Rupee manages gains

At 59.02/03 per dollar

Rupee opened higher at 59.02/03 per dollar on Monday (09 June 2014), versus its previous close of 59.17/18 per dollar on Friday.

Earlier during the session, rupee opened on a stroner note before the central bank of India stepped in to buy dollars from state-run banks starting around 58.99/59.00.
