Telecom shares fall

Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 12.66 points or 1.35% at 923.82 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (down 2.91%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 1.7%),OnMobile Global Ltd (down 1.48%),Bharti Infratel Ltd (down 1.46%),Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 1.22%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 1.14%), ITI Ltd (down 0.64%), Optiemus Infracom Ltd (down 0.19%), and Tata Communications Ltd (down 0.19%).

On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (up 9.94%), Aksh Optifibre Ltd (up 4.99%), and Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 4.47%) moved up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 16.66 or 0.04% at 37254.16.

The Nifty 50 index was down 3.75 points or 0.03% at 11031.95.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 61.71 points or 0.48% at 12953.64.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.06 points or 0.02% at 4315.11.

On BSE,1385 shares were trading in green, 959 were trading in red and 130 were unchanged.
