Utilties shares slide
Utilties stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 20.85 points or 1.15% at 1796.72 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (down 5.95%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 2.76%),NTPC Ltd (down 1.93%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.69%),CESC Ltd (down 1.67%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.6%), GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.6%), GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.22%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.19%), and GMR Infrastructure Ltd (down 1.19%).
On the other hand, RattanIndia Infrastructure Ltd (up 9.61%), Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd (up 3.08%), and Tata Power Company Ltd (up 3.02%) moved up.
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 16.66 or 0.04% at 37254.16.
The Nifty 50 index was down 3.75 points or 0.03% at 11031.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 61.71 points or 0.48% at 12953.64.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 1.06 points or 0.02% at 4315.11.
On BSE,1385 shares were trading in green, 959 were trading in red and 130 were unchanged.
