1.2 million Olympic tickets sold

Brazilians have snapped up about 1.2 million tickets for next year's Rio Olympics a week after tickets went on sale, organisers have said.

According to tickets sales, the most popular sports are volleyball, football and basketball, reports Xinhua.

A total of 7.2 million tickets will be sold with some 70 per cent reserved for residents of Brazil.
