300th unbroken Sunday of tree plantation

A spiritual group here said on Wednesday it will mark the 300th consecutive Sunday of tree plantation in Kolkata on July 31.

On that day, 300 trees will be planted in Belgharia area of Kolkata. The programme will be headed by Chinmay Pandya, head of the All World Gayatri Pariwar based at Shantikunj in Haridwar.

"This plantation movement has been recognised and appreciated by an environmentalist organisation Earth Day Network," a statement from Gayatri Pariwar said.
