AIMIM wins Dasna chairman's seat
Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e- Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Friday won chairmanship of the Dasna City Panchayat here.
In a close fight, its candidate Hajjan Hansar defeated her closest rival, Independent candidate Praveen Nadia by 587 votes.
Hansar got 3,148 votes while Praveen got 2,561 votes. Congress' Shakeena Begum stood third, securing 2,546 votes. There were 25 candidates in the fray.
