B.S. Bassi is new Delhi Police chief

B.S. Bassi, special commissioner of police (administration), is to be the new Delhi Police chief.

Bassi, an IPS officer of the 1977 batch, is to take over from Aug 1, 2013, according to an order issued Tuesday.

Bassi will succeed incumbent Neeraj Kumar who retires July 31.
