The state-of-the-art Complete Knock-Down (CKD) will cater to both "CENTRiC" and "FRND" mobile phones, manufactured by (India) Pvt Ltd, as well as other globally, the company said during the UP Investors' Summit here.

"The company plans to invest Rs 648 crore in setting up an R&D and manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh," Manish Agarwal, Founder, (India) Pvt Ltd, said in a statement.

The project is expected to generate employment for over 1,500 people at various levels, the company said.

CENTRiC Mobiles recently launched its budget CENTRiC "L3" in for Rs 6,749.

The device features a 1.3GHz with 2GB and 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256GB.

The phone comes with a 13MP rear auto-focus (AF) camera and a 5MP front shooter. There is a 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass.

The dual-SIM has a fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE support and a 3,050mAh battery.
