It was a hot and sultry Wednesday in the capital though the maximum temperature was recorded 39.2 degrees, average for this time of the season. Thursday could see some rain, said the Met Office.
While the minimum temperature settled one notch below average at 27.2 degrees Celsius, the humidity wavered between a high of 80 percent and low of 49 percent.
"The sky will be partly cloudy and rains and thunderstorm are expected Thursday," said an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Thursday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 38 and 27 degrees respectively.
