FIFA fines Beckenbauer
German great Franz Beckenbauer was sanctioned by football's world governing body FIFA for refusing to cooperate with investigation of World Cup bidding.
FIFA's ethics committee Wednesday said Beckenbauer refused "repeated requests for his assistance" in the 2018-2022 World Cup inquiry, reports Xinhua.
Beckenbauer was fined 7,000 Swiss francs ($7,050).
