Goa teacher booked for molesting student

A 59-year-old school teacher was booked on Thursday for allegedly molesting a Class 4 student in a coastal village in Goa, police said.

Accused Hanumant Narvekar was a Physical Training teacher in the school located in Siolim, 25 km from Panaji and is currently absconding, a police officer said.

According to the complaint filed at the Mapusa police station, the teacher took the 10-year-old girl to a toilet in the school and allegedly fondled her private parts.

An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Goa Children's Act.
