Husband hits wife, leaves her to die

A woman succumbed to her injuries here on Saturday after her husband hit her and fled, police said.

The couple, residing in Gurugram Sector 40 area, had a verbal fight over a trivial issue on March 7 after which, as per the victim's dying statement, her husband - Rohit Pal - hit her on the head with a blunt object.

As she collapsed on the floor, the accused fled from the spot, leaving her in an unconscious condition.

The victim's neighbours later admitted her in a hospital where she succumbed to head injuries on Saturday morning.

The accused is on the run.
