An Army JCO injured in Pakistani shelling on the Line of Control died on Wednesday, while Indian and Pakistani troops again exchanged shelling and firing in Jammu region, official sources said.

Junior Commissioned Officer Shashi Kumar was injured in the Nowshera sector on the Line of Control on Tuesday and was undergoing treatment at a hospital, where he passed away.

"The Pakistan Army indulged in unprovoked and indiscriminate firing with small arms, automatics and mortars from 8.45 a.m. in Bhimber Gali Sector (in Poonch district) along the LoC, to which the Indian Army retaliated effectively," Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta said here.

Two Indian Army soldiers were killed in the LoC shelling and firing in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Defence sources said the Pakistan Army had been violating bilateral ceasefire agreement with impunity in the last three days.
