A Maoist involved in several incidents of violence, including five murders, was arrested by police in Odisha Saturday with explosives, an official said.

Satya Mandingi, a 25-year-old resident of Narayanpatna in Koraput district, was arrested during a joint combing operation by police and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in the same area, Inspector General of Police Yashwant Jethwa told IANS.

Mandingi was a member of the local area committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist. A claymore mine, detonators, electric wire and a battery were recovered from him.
