Midfielder Vikas to lead Delhi in Santosh Trophy

Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) on Wednesday announced that mid-fielder Vikas Rawat of Airports Authority of India (AAI) will lead a 20-member squad for 70th National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy to be held in Jammu from February 6 to 11.

The team was finalised on Tuesday after a trial-cum-selection camp of 13 days held at CWG Village Sports Complex and Ambedkar Stadium.

The team plays its first match on February 6 against Chandigarh followed by Uttar Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir on 8 and 10, respectively.

The squad:

Goalkeeper: Ayush Rai, Amit Negi (vice-captain);

Defenders: Yogesh Prasad (Vice-captain), Sonu Beniwal, Abhishek Rawat, Anoop Bisht, Nitin Rawat, Harish Karki, Pawan Sharma;

 

Midfielders: Vikas Rawat (Captain), Ashu Nathani, Monu Choudhary, Dheeraj Jangpangi, Kisley Sajwan, Anirbhan Barua, Nitesh Sharma;

Forwards: Kamal Singh Rawat, Shaheen John, Shashank Mamgain, Vikrant Solanky;

Coaches: Anadi Barua & Ravinder Singh Rana; and

Manager: Pushpender Kundu.
