Modi pays homage to Birsa Munda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid homage to tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.

"I pay homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary and recall his courage and efforts towards empowerment of tribal communities," the Prime Minister said in an official statement.

Birsa Munda, who was also a religious leader, belonged to the Munda tribe.
