More UAE aid for Syrian refugees

Abu Dhabi, Feb 11 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has implemented a new phase of the programme of aid relief for Syrian refugees in Lebanon at a cost of five million dirhams (around $1.3 million).
This includes the provision of food parcels, shelter materials and a variety of winter clothing, especially for children.
Naima Al-Muhairi, deputy secretary-general of the RCA for international aid, was cited Tuesday as saying that around 14,000 Syrian families in Lebanon benefited from the relief programmes of the authority.
The RCA has strengthened its partnership with the Lebanese Red Cross Society (LRCS), the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Committee for Red Crescent to enhance avenues of cooperation and coordination between them to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
