Pakistani National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has dismissed a reference pertaining to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's disqualification.
The reference, challenging Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's eligibility under Article 63(2) of the constitution was sent by a lawyer, Azhar Siddique, to the Speaker Sep 25, Geo TV reported.
The advocate had stated that Sharif had defamed the army in his speech during a joint session of parliament.
Siddique said the reference was dismissed by the National Assembly speaker without any investigation.
The NA speaker declared the reference notice as baseless and contrary to facts.
