PM congratulates Modi

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday congratulated BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for leading the party to victory in the Lok Sabha election.

Manmohan Singh telephoned Modi who is now in Gandhinagar, according to a message on the twitter handle of the Prime Minister's Office.

With BJP headed for a majority in the Lok Sabha, Modi is set to succeed Manmohan Singh as the country's next prime minister.
