A Chinese police officer was sentenced to three years in prison Tuesday for causing intentional injury to a seven-month-old baby.
According to the Henan Provincial Higher People's Court, Guo Zengxi of the public security bureau was convicted of the crime of causing intentional injury to the baby, Xinhua reported.
On July 18, 2013, Guo took the baby girl from her parents and threw her on the ground in Linzhou city after drinking alcohol with friends.
A hospital confirmed later that the baby suffered head injuries.
Guo was detained Aug 17, 2013. He confessed to the crime and said in the court that he would not file an appeal.
