Qatar to host 2016 AFC U-23 Championship
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Competitions Committee Friday decided to award the hosting rights of the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship to Qatar.
The 16-nation biennial competition, which has been launched as the AFC U-22 Championship, was renamed as the AFC U-23 Championship and serves as the Olympic qualifier, reports Xinhua.
Top three teams from the 2016 edition will represent Asia at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
