Heavy downpour caused by monsoon has affected over a million people in China and left at least six people dead and three missing in Guangdong province, said authorities Saturday.

Four people had died and as many went missing earlier this week in the same province due to downpour and floods triggered by Typhoon Utor, Xinhua reported.

Till Saturday afternoon, over a million people, from 262 villages and towns, were affected by heavy rainfalls triggered by the monsoon, said provincial flood control authorities. A total of 109,300 people have been relocated.

Torrential rain was expected to continue in Guangdong Sunday, said provincial meteorological bureau.
