Hamburg centre-back Cleber Reis could join Santos in January as the Brazilian club seeks to bolster its defence, according to media reports.
The German outfit is said to be demanding around three million euros for Cleber, who has failed to hold down a first-team place since his 2014 move from Corinthians, reports Xinhua.
Santos are hoping to secure the 25-year-old for two million euros after a loan deal was ruled out, ESPN Brasil said on Saturday.
Santos are third in Brazil's Serie A championship and have already secured a berth in next year's Copa Libertadores, South America's top club competition.
