Soldier killed in Jammu and Kashmir

Separatist guerrillas shot dead a soldier on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, police said.

Lance Naik Om Vir Singh of Rashtriya Rifles died during an anti-militancy operation at the dense Rajwar forested area that began on Tuesday night.

Reports from the area said firing had stopped but security forces were searching for other militants.
