Tom Hardy to play Elton John in biopic

British actor Tom Hardy will play Elton John in an upcoming biopic about the legendary singer's life.

"Rocketman" is a joint production from Focus Features and Rocket Pictures, the movie production company is co-owned by John and his partner David Furnish.

Hardy signed the film earlier this week, reports contactmusic.com.

"Rocketman", directed by Michael Gracey, will tell the story of John's life, from infancy to the present day.
