RP Sanjiv Goenka Group's flagship company CESC Ltd on Thursday said the Uttar Pradesh Regulatory Commission rejected a petition in which its associate firm Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) sought approval from the regulator to purchase 200 mega watt (MW) of power on a long term basis from Dhariwal Infrastructure Limited.
"A petition was submitted by Noida Power Company Limited, an associate company of CESC, for purchase of 200 MW of power on a long term basis from April 1, 2018 from Dhariwal Infrastructure Limited, another CESC subsidiary, for approval of the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
In its order dated November 13, 2017, passed by the Commission, the above petition of NPCL has been rejected," the firm said in a regulatory filing.
The power company also said the commission directed to initiate aA competitive bidding process immediately and complete the process as per the timelines given by the central government guidelines.
"The above order is currently being studied," the firm added.
