Volkswagen rolls out Ameo from Maharashtra plant

Car maker Volkswagen India on Wednesday said it rolled out Ameo from its Chakan plant and would rapidly ramp-up the production to build up enough inventory before market introduction.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "This roll-out means a lot to us as it explains to the world what 'Make in India' actually means."

The company has invested approximately Rs.720 crore in the plant for the development of the compact sedan, setting up new equipment for production as well as ramping up the manufacturing.
