It is reported that over 40 imported dogs and 23 exotic birds were recovered from the official residence of Sri Lanka's former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. It is also reported that the former defence secretary of the island nation and Rajapaksa's brother, Gotabaya, had kept a shark at his residence that was taken care of by navy personnel, besides two baby elephants worth a fortune. After Mahinda Rajapaksa's regime ended, the two baby elephants were handed over to an army camp in Panagoda, while the shark was taken away by a businessman in Mount Lavinia, famed for its beaches and nightlife.
