With reference to A K Bhattacharya's article, "Two lessons after two years" (May 25), while two years can't be a yardstick to judge the performance of a government at the Centre, it is an indicator of the shape of things to come.
That the Narendra Modi government has completed two years without a scam or corruption scandal is probably its biggest achievement. On the flip side, although it started off with big promises such as bringing black money stashed abroad, those seem to have been forgotten and replaced by new ones such as Make in India that don't add value to governance.
As this government has failed to deliver on its promises, the remaining three years of its rule will likely be lacklustre too.
