Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has made a habit of offering his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav lessons in governance and project management in full public glare. In a recent instance, he urged Akhilesh Yadav to stay ahead of deadlines and strive to complete work before schedule. After attending the foundation stone-laying ceremony at a school in Mainpuri with his son, Yadav senior said now that the foundation stone had been laid, the CM should announce to the people gathered at the event the date of inauguration of the school. Akhilesh Yadav promptly assured the people that the school would be inaugurated the same day next year. Not impressed, Mulayam Singh Yadav asked the chief minister to complete the project in eight months.
