TDI's Rs 100 crore township in Sonepat expected by 2007

Plots varying from 250 square yards to 500 square yards will be on offer

Prakash Jha New Delhi
Taneja Developers & Infrastructure Ltd (TDI) has decided to develop a Rs 100-crore integrated residential township at Sonepat in Haryana.

To be spread over 125 acres in Sector 16 of Sonepat, the TDI Greens, as the project has been named, is expected to be ready in 2007.

Stressing that proximity to the national capital was one of the major plus points of the TDI Greens, Kamal Taneja, TDI managing director, said, "Located adjacent to National Highway No 1, the new township will be just a 15-minute drive from the North Delhi border."

According to Taneja, the TDI Greens has been conceptualised to offer an international living experience at affordable prices to those in North and North West Delhi, including colonies like Rohini, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Ashok Vihar, Model Town, Pashchim Vihar and surrounding cities like Rohtak and Panipat in Haryana.

Taneja Developers, forerunners in the real estate industry, plans to offer plots in different sizes varying from 250 square yards to 350 square yards to 500 square yards.

The proposed city was being developed on a land that was adjacent to Sonepat's industrial sectors like Sectors 15, 3, 6, and was in close proximity to the railway station and Sonepat bus terminal, Taneja said.

Remarking that the national capital was facing space crunch, he said Sonepat was a growing industrial city and had huge potential for development and expansion.

The new township would be a self-sufficient residential township and would take care of shopping, entertainment, education, and healthcare needs of the residents, said promoters of the TDI Greens.

Established in the late 1980s, the core business of the company has been trading in real estate. But over the last decade, the company has diversified into real estate development. Palm-Court-Gurgaon and TDI Westside Mall are some of the known projects developed by the company.

Currently, the company is developing the TDI Mall at Rajouri Garden, Paragon Shopping cum Multiplex at Rajouri Garden, Southern Park-Saket and the TDI Mall in Agra.

"TDI offers best value for money to its customers by using efficient and economical designs and construction methods. It applies "value engineering"""a system by which several cost-reducing methods are employed through the use of latest technologies without reducing the value of the project," Taneja said.
