Pramod Tewari, Kanaklata Singh take oath in Rajya Sabha

Senior Congress leader Pramod Tewari and Kanaklata Singh of Samajwadi Party today took oath as members of Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.

Election for the two seats were held following death of Kanaklata's father Mohan Singh, an SP leader and noted socialist, and disqualification of Congress member Rashid Masood following his conviction in medical education seat scam case.

Both the MPs, who were elected unopposed, took oath in the presence of Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari.
