Prominent Muslim cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq accused the state government of failing to provide justice to the Muzaffarnagar riot victims and said the people would give it a befitting reply in the upcoming polls.

"Muzaffarnagar riots show failure of district administration. People will give reply to the government in the upcoming polls," the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) vice-president said.

He also called Narendra Modi "harmful" for secularism and said people should unitedly fight against communal forces.

Maulana claimed that the death of a cleric few days ago was actually a murder and police was trying to cover it up by saying it was a suicide.
