Herbalife to Help Protect the Environment

Supports Green and Healthy Living on World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, Herbalife India, a leading nutrition and weight management company today planted over 100 saplings at the Yediyur Public Park.

The primary purpose of this initiative was to create awareness on the importance and necessity to conserve the environment.  This activity also helps promote healthy living to the citizens of Bengaluru and draws their attention to the need of mitigating the effects of rapid urbanization such as pollution.  Over 100 Herbalife employees and independent Distributors participated in this special occasion.  Other guests included members of the government of Karnataka:  Mr. N.R.Ramesh, Corporator-Yediyur Ward, Mr. M.K.Raju, Organizing Secretary - Bangalore South, Mr. Nataraj B.M, Karnataka State Employee Association President, Group D, Mr. Ashok Das, President, Yediyur ward as well as Mr. B.Goplakrishna, Active Socialist.

Commenting on Herbalife’s World Environment Day celebrations, Ajay Khanna, Country Head, Herbalife India said, “At Herbalife we always believe in giving back to the society.  Our mission is not just to create public awareness on environment conservations, it is also very important for us as individuals to take the lead for action.  We are confident that all our employees and independent Distributors will go back home and make a difference in their respective environment.  In addition, through our excellent distributor network, we hope that we’ll make a even bigger difference across the whole country”.

For over 30 years, Herbalife has been promoting green: from their green Herbalife logo to what they call the ‘sea of green’ – how they look when their Team Herbalife is participating in an event – everyone wearing green gear.  Herbalife has made great strides in the area of corporate social responsibility as a company to do their part to protect the quality of the environment.  The company’s commitment is to make decisions based not only on financial factors, but also based on the immediate and long-term social and environmental consequences of their activities.   Herbalife’s live green initiatives focus on 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle.   In addition to continuous improvement as a company, Herbalife is also challenging and supporting their 2.1 million Herbalife Independent Distributors in 73 countries around the world to focus on the 3Rs.
