Bling telecom Pvt. Ltd. spearheaded by Mr. Rajv Khanna launches their flagship mobile phones brand Movil in the South India markets at Bengaluru. The event took off with the unveiling of an array of designer phones in the mid segment and high-end on GSM and CDMA platforms by Giselle Monterio, Bollywood actress, Brazilian model of “Love Aaj Kal” fame and Mr. Rajiv Khanna, Chairman, Movil Mobiles.
South India offers good prospects for Movil as it is the second largest market in India. After capturing the northern market in the last few months, Movil aims to capture the mid and high segments in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. Movil will expand its coverage from current 25 towns in the Karnataka, AP, TN and Kerala to 200 towns in these states with an aim is to establish a wide network of almost 5000 shops.
Elaborating on the marketing plans, Mr. Rajiv khanna, Chairman Movil Mobiles stated, “In Southern India Movil aims to achieve 5% market share across the segment during the FY 2010 – 11. We are targeting 1.5 million phones in the current fiscal year with a turnover of Rs. 300 to 350 Crores”.
Company plans to soon launch another brand – Bling, to cater to value segment.
