Forward Bloc holds rally in Kolkata

The AIFB's Kolkata district unit took out a procession to Lalbazar from Subodh Mallick Square demanding that the administration deal with the issues strictly.

"Many of our workers and supporters were arrested by immediately after the procession started and we were not allowed to proceed," AIFB's Kolkata district secretary Debabrata Roy alleged.

He said the party would submit a memorandum to the governor.

Police sources said that 259 processionists were detained. All were later released.
