Addressing a programme at the Badhni railway station near Indo-Nepal border here, Union Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said, "despite limited resources, Railways was trying to provide all necessary facilities to the passengers".

The minister said that the Railways was facing difficulties in running the network as passenger fares have not been increased.

He said that three stations in Allahabad were being given a facelift in view of the Maha Kumbh Mela to be held there from January next year.

Bansal said that his ministry would consider over the extension of the network from Badhni to Nepal and running a direct train from here to Delhi.

He assured that there would be no dearth of funds for the remaining gauge conversion work on Gorakhpur- Gonda railway line.
