One person was today killed and 12 were injured when the jeep they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge in Joshi Math area of Chamoli district.
The accident took place today evening when a jeep carrying 13 persons, including the driver, plunged into a gorge near Malari village on Joshi Math-Niti-Motor way, Chamoli Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Kumar Meena said.
One person was killed on the spot while the remaining 12 sustained injuries, SP Meena said, adding that the injured were rescued by the jawans of ITBP force and admitted to a hospital in Joshi Math where two of them were said to be in critical condition.
