1 killed, 3 injured in clash between two families

A 55-year-old man was today killed and three others, including a woman, were injured in a clash between two families over a petty feud in Sanganer area here, police said.

Bhajan Lal Ballai, was killed after he was hit by an iron rod in his chest when he tried to stop members of the two families from attacking each other outside their house in Devnagar Colony here, police said.

According to the police, the families of Mehboob and his neighbour Jameel Luhar were quarrelling over setting up a food stall during the annual 'Diggi-Kalyan padyatra' yesterday. The brawl turned violent this morning when members of the families, including women, attacked each other using sticks and iron rods during which three persons were injured.
 

The injured were rushed to a government hospital in the city, they said.

Ballai, who had came to drop off his niece to her in-laws house there tried to stop them from fighting during which he was injured, police said, adding, he succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a hospital.

A criminal case under relevant sections of the IPC has been lodged, they said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
