At least 12 people, including three women, were injured in a clash between two groups over collecting water from a hand pump at Khedki village in Shamli district today, police said.
The clash took place last evening when two women started fighting over who would collect water first from the hand pump, police said.
The matter escalated and the people from both groups attacked each other with sticks and stones, they said, adding that the injured were rushed to hospital.
