A 13-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of a multi-storey building in suburban Wadala Thursday, police said.
Riyan Chakraborty fell to his death from the terrace of 18-storey Girnar Heights around 3.45 pm, a police official said.
He was alone at home at the time of incident as his parents were away at work.
His chappals (footwear) were found on the water tank on the terrace, leading to the suspicion that it was a suicide, though further probe is on, the official said.
Riyan was rushed to the government-run Sion hospital but was declared dead before arrival.
Police were yet to ascertain if it was a suicide or an accident, and CCTV footage of nearby buildings would be examined for clues, the official said.
