18 industrial units 'most clean' in Vadodara city

As many as 18 units out of 852 in the four industrial estates of Vadodara city emerged as the 'most cleanest' in a recent survey of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and Swachhata committees of the four industry associations.

The survey of 852 units, located in Makarpura industrial estate, Gorva industrial estate, Navayard industrial estate, Chhani and Sardar industrial estate, Ajwa road, was conducted from May 1-15 and were assessed on cleanliness, sanitation, infrastructure etc, VMC deputy municipal commissioner N K Meena said.

The survey was a part of a cleanliness drive launched by the civic body.

Head of solid waste management department of VMC Shailesh Mistry said, "We had conducted meeting with all presidents, office bearers of the four industries associations to undertake cleanliness drives in and around factories located in their respective estates."
 

He said the associations were also asked to do repairing works of toilets in the units and to ensure that toilets facilities for men and women exists for the factory staff within the premises.
