18-month old baby dies after falling down from balcony

An 18-month-old baby girl died after she fell down from the balcony of her fourth floor apartment on LBSM Road here today, police said.

Yukta Kumari, daughter of Yasbir Dalai, came playing near the balcony and fell down from the fourth floor of her apartment, police said.

The infant was immediately rushed to a nearby nursing home, where doctors referred her to Tata Main Hospital, police said adding that the girl was declared brought dead by the doctors at Tata Main Hospital.

Police said she succumbed to her injuries on way to the hospital.

Police said the family members including her mother, who was working in the kitchen, were engaged in their work when the mishap took place.
