18 policemen fined for being absent from duty

Eighteen policemen have been fined for being absent and negligent on their duty hours following a surprise check by a senior rank official, police said today.

The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) conducted a surprise check yesterday here where he found that 18 police officials were found missing, SSP H N Singh said.

One day's salary would be deducted from their accounts as they were found to be negligent on their duty, he said.
