2 drug peddlers arrested with poppy in Jammu

Two drug peddlers were arrested and 14 kgs of poppy recovered from them in Jammu today.

During checking, police intercepted one pedestrian from Punjab at bus stand area in Jammu, a police officer said adding they recovered 13 kgs poppy from his possession.

Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law, he said adding that further investigation of the case is on to ascertain source and destination of the consignment.

In another incident, police intercepted a scooter at Karan Bagh area in the city and recovered 1 kilo of poppy from his possession, he said.
